Flowchart to identify and address the Physiological and Mental Health needs of People with HIV

2026 The project consists in a flowchart describing a multidimensional care pathway for people living with HIV, which combines an initial screening questionnaire with a structured pathway for further diagnostic assessment and follow-up of physiological and mental comorbidities. The target group is people with HIV receiving care at infectious diseases centres, with a specific focus on physiological comorbidities and mental health, areas that are often overlooked in routine clinical management, mostly for lack of time.

The initiative was launched as part of Coalition HIV, an Italian working group established in 2019 through a joint initiative by clinicians, patient organisations and pharmaceutical companies, with the aim of putting HIV and AIDS back at the centre of the national political agenda.
